The New York State Bridge Authority is an

          Civil Service examinations are required for all Administrative and Full Time Toll Collection positions. Please visit the NYS Department of Civil Service at www.cs.state.ny.us or call (518) 457-2487 for additional information or upcoming civil service examinations and job openings.
          Entry-level maintenance and casual (part-time) toll collector positions do not require a written examination from civil service. Maintenance positions require the employee be at least 18 years of age and have a Commercial Drivers License at the time of hire or within six (6) months of hire. They must also pass a physical which includes drug screening and the ability to climb the bridge structures. Casual toll collector positions require the employee to be at least 18 years of age.

Completed applications may be returned to any bridge office or the Headquarters building in Highland, NY. Bridge Authority Internship Program

          The Bridge Authority accepts applications from full time college students for summer employment opportunities in the maintenance department beginning in January. Eligible students must be 18 years of age and attending an accredited college in the fall.

          The Authority expects interns to perform vigorous outdoor activities, including: Lawn and landscape maintenance, mowing, cleaning and painting. These positions are available from mid-May through the end of August.
